Global Repercussions of International Economic Policies

The Kiel Institute for the World Economy and RETHINK-GSC, the Globalization Chair at the Paris School of Economics, Bielefeld University, TED University Ankara, and the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye invite submissions for the “Global Repercussions of International Economic Policies” Workshop. The workshop will be hosted by Galatasaray University Economic Research Center (GIAM) in Istanbul, Türkiye.

This workshop aims to bring together leading economists to explore the economic implications of globalization, particularly focusing on the effects of international economic policies beyond borders. Topics include (but are not limited to):

  • effects of trade policies, e.g., on labour markets
  • effects of sanctions on third countries
  • shifts in global trade and investment under increasing political fragmentation

The workshop is jointly organized by the Kiel Institute for the World Economy and RETHINK-GSC, the Globalization Chair at the Paris School of Economics, Bielefeld University, TED University Ankara, and the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye, and hosted by Galatasaray University Economic Research Center (GIAM).

PhD and Postdoc scholars are encouraged to apply. A travel grant will be awarded to two junior researchers. Accommodation will be provided to accepted speakers.

Submissions until midnight, 30 September 2024, via E-Mail: submissions@griep-workshop.org. Submissions of full papers (including draft versions) are preferred. Each paper will be assigned a discussant. Invited speakers will be notified by 7 October 2024.
